After more than eight hours of broadcasting, he emerged victorious from a field of 2,502 total entries to capture his first WSOP gold bracelet and the top prize of $164,494 while thousands of viewers watched on. This was Yau’s first-ever cash in a WSOP event.

This event attracted 1,677 unique players who collectively re-entered a total of 825 times to create a final prize pool of $1,125,900. The top 371 finishers made the money, locking up a payday of at least $788. Among the notables to cash in this event were bracelet winner Ankush ‘rickrosstheb’ Mandavia (330th – $901), four-time bracelet winner Mike ‘Mouth123’ Matusow (304th – $901), two-time bracelet winner Nick ‘samadhi’ Binger (214th – $1,013), bracelet winner and World Poker Tour champion Chris ‘Robotbob47’ Moorman (153rd – $1,351), six-time bracelet winner Daniel ‘DNegs’ Negreanu (92nd – $1,576), two-time bracelet winner Eric ‘circleball’ Baldwin (68th – $2,027), and three-time bracelet winner Ben ‘WhyIsGamora’ Yu (46th – $2,927). Mohammad ‘Tmomoney’ Mufti was the chip leader when the final table of nine players was set, with Yau sitting in second chip position. Yau quickly overtook the top spot on the leaderboard by scoring a double elimination. Michael “Mike91680’ Guzzardi shoved from early position for around 1.9 million with KK and Ya called from the cutoff holding A8. Recent WSOP Online bracelet winner Joon ‘jykpoker’ Kim then moved all-in for around 2.6 million total with AK. Yau called to put both of his opponents at risk and the board camde down 10954Q, giving him the nut flush on the river. Guzzardi earned $13,961 as the ninth-place finisher, while Kim took home $18,014 for his second final-table finish of the series.

The next big showdown began with Yau rating to 925,000 from under the gun with QJ. David ‘reallytight’ Kim called from the big blind with Q10 and hit the nut straight with aAKJ flop. Kim checked and called all-in facing a bet of 2,350,00 from Yau, who was way behind with his bottom pair, outs to tie with the same straight, and a possible backdoor flush. The 3 on the turn made it so that Yau only needed to catch one more diamond in order to bust Kim. The 4 on the river completed Yau’s flush and he took down the pot to eliminate Kim in fifth place ($41,321).
Yau kept up his rampage by sending WSOPC Circuit Tunica main event champion Blake ‘shampainpopn’ Whittington home in fourth place. Whittington shoved for 3.1 million, or about 7.8 big blinds, holding J10 as the first to act. Yau three-bet all-in from the button with AA. The blinds folded and the board ran out 97425. The six-time WSOPC gold ring winner earned $55,281 for his latest deep run.
Yau took a massive lead into three-handed play, but Brian ‘LakersGTD’ Patrick closed the gap somewhat by knocking Mohammad ‘Tmomoney’ Mufti out in third place ($74,647). It was a classic race situation, as Mufti got his last chips in with 99 and found himself up against AQ. Patrick flopped an ace and held from there to set up a heads-up showdown with Yau, who would begin with roughly a 3:2 chip advantage.
Yau was able to extend his lead even further, and held more than a 3:1 advantage by the time the final hand was dealt. Yau picked up 44 on the button and raised to 1,250,000. Patrick three-bet shoved for 11,293,588 with A8 and Yau called. The board came down Q7767 and Yau made a full house to lock up the pot and the title. Patrick was awarded $101,669 as the runner-up finisher.

On Sunday night, the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Event #26: $500 No-Limit Hold'em Grande Finale attracted 1,677 players who rebought 825 times. The 2,502-entry field meant a $1,125,900 prize pool was created, and after 12 hours of play it was 22-year-old Ethan 'RampageP' Yau capturing the bracelet and $164,493.99 first-place prize.
Yau, who streamed the victory on YouTube to thousands of viewers under his Rampage Poker moniker, is a self-described $1-$3 no-limit hold’em player who often loses. According to HendonMob, he has just $2,180 in tournament earnings from a pair of small cashes at Encore Boston Harbor.
While he may not be the most experienced player, he can now say he’s a World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner in his first-ever WSOP-related cash. Yau was slated to check out of his New Jersey AirBnB five hours, but one of the first things he did after the victory was send a message asking for a one-day extension. He also wondered how he was going to break the news to his mother, who he didn't inform about his trip to New Jersey in order to play the WSOP online series.
'That you guys. My phone is blowing up,' Yau said before closing his stream. 'Thank you so much for watching.'

Among those to make deep runs but come up short were Nick “samadhi” Binger (214th - $1,013.31), Chris “Robotbob47” Moorman (153rd - $1,351.08), Guy “PhilLaak” Dunlap (118th - $1,463.67), Daniel “DNegs” Negreanu (92nd - $1,576.26), Eric “circleball” Baldwin (68th - $2,026.62), Mark “Pegasus” Smith (39th - $3,490.29), and Brandon “Horus” Eisen (11th - $10,921.23).
Mohammad “Tmomoney” Mufti began the final table as the chip leader with Yau hot on his heels. Before too long, Yau vaulted into the lead after scoring a double elimination when his ace-eight suited hit a runner-runner flush all in preflop against Michael “Mike91680” Guzzardi and Event #7 champ Joon “jykpoker” Kim, who had kings and ace-king respectively.

Mufti then earned a knockout of his own when his ace-four held against the king-queen of Matt “OMG_Obama” Iles, who bowed out in seventh place. Following him out the door was Jason “TATTOOMONEY” Scott, who shoved the button with eight-six only to run into Blake “shampainpopn” Whittington’s pocket tens.
Five-handed play lasted for a while beforeDavid “reallytight” Kim flopped a straight and got it in only to see Yau runner-runner a diamond flush. Whittington then ran jack-ten suited smack dab into Yau’s pocket aces to fall in fourth, while Brian “LakersGTD” Patrick won a flip with ace-queen against Mufti’s nines to send the latter out in third.
Yau began heads-up play with 22.8 million to Patrick’s 14.5 million, and it didn’t take long before the two flipped for it. Patrick had ace-eight, Yau two reds fours, and the board ran out clean to eliminate Patrick in second place and send the bracelet to Yau.
